BANDAI reveals closer look at the HG 1/144 GFreD Gunpla kit as sales set to start

New official product images have been released for the upcoming “HG 1/144 GFreD” Gunpla model kit from Bandai Spirits.
The new kit is based on a mobile suit from the recently concluded anime series, Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX.

GFreD is the designated name for the G-QuuuuuuX Unit 2, the sharp, purple-colored mobile suit piloted by the character Nyaan in the series.

This new High Grade (HG) model kit is a 1/144 scale reproduction that faithfully captures the suit’s unique design.

The kit is engineered with a wide range of articulation in its torso, hip joints, and other areas, allowing it to be posed in a variety of dynamic action stances from the anime.

Several special features and gimmicks are included in the model.

The head can be swapped between its standard “non-deployed state” and an “expanded state” for when it connects with its pilot.

The backpack is attached via a flexible arm, and it can also be detached and displayed on its own in a “Core Fighter” configuration.

For armaments, the model comes with a beam rifle, a beam saber, and a shield.

The suit’s head-mounted S-Bit weapons, named “Luna” and “Artemis,” are also detachable.

Builders can display these remote weapons in a deployed, flying state by using the “Witch from Mercury Weapon Display Base,” which is sold separately.
The “HG 1/144 GFreD” model kit is priced at 2,530 yen (approx. $15.88 USD / £11.82 GBP) and it is scheduled to be released at general retail stores from the 2nd of August, 2025.
The GFreD Gunpla kit was first revealed earlier this year, and pre-orders were opened at that time. Pre-orders will start shipping at the same time as the general release.
