Bandai Fully Reveals Exclusive New Gundam 00 MG Gundam Kyrios Gunpla Kit Ahead of Release

Bandai has fully revealed a striking new Master Grade version of Gundam Kyrios that recreates the transforming Mobile Suit at the moment its powerful Trans-Am system is activated.

The “MG 1/100 Gundam Kyrios (Trans-Am Mode) [Metallic Gloss Injection]” replaces the mobile suit’s familiar orange, white, and dark gray appearance with a shimmering red finish inspired by its dramatic power boost in Mobile Suit Gundam 00.

Piloted by Allelujah Haptism as one of Celestial Being’s four original Gundams, Kyrios was designed around speed and aerial combat, with its internal frame allowing it to transform from its humanoid Mobile Suit form into a streamlined flight-focused MA configuration.

The Trans-Am system pushes that performance considerably further by temporarily releasing highly compressed GN particles stored within the Gundam, dramatically increasing its capabilities while causing its armor to glow red.

That transformation provides the entire visual focus of the new Gunpla, with Bandai using Metallic Gloss Injection molding to give the armor a reflective red finish rather than simply reproducing Kyrios in darker-colored plastic.

The GN Condensers around the legs also combine clear components with foil stickers to create a brighter iridescent appearance, helping them stand out against the metallic red armor.

New water-slide decals have been created specifically for this release as well, with the coloring of the various markings adjusted to complement the Trans-Am appearance rather than carrying over the decals from the standard version unchanged.

Underneath the new finish, the kit retains the engineering of the original MG Gundam Kyrios released in May 2020, including its detailed internal frame and complete transformation into MA mode without requiring builders to swap major parts.

The shoulder armor and nose sections lock into position during the transformation to help the finished MA form remain stable, while the articulated construction still allows Kyrios to switch back into Mobile Suit mode for more traditional action poses.

Its full weapon selection also returns, including the GN Beam Submachine Gun, two GN Beam Sabers, GN Shield and GN Hand Missile Units, giving the finished model plenty of display options in either configuration.

The release also fits neatly alongside Bandai’s other recent Gundam 00 Trans-Am Master Grades, with the MG Gundam Dynames (Trans-Am Mode) [Metallic Gloss Injection] and MG Trans-Am Raiser both receiving Japanese re-releases earlier in 2026.

Kyrios itself was first shown as one of Bandai’s new Gunpla announcements at the Shizuoka Hobby Show in May, but its finalized product images, box art, price, and September release date have only now been confirmed.

The “MG 1/100 Gundam Base Limited Gundam Kyrios (Trans-Am Mode) [Metallic Gloss Injection]” will launch through The Gundam Base in Japan on September 19, 2026, for ¥5,830 (approximately $38 / £28).
