BANDAI confirms release dates for July 2025’s new Gunpla

BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division has officially confirmed its full lineup of Gunpla products for general retail release in July 2025.
The release schedule includes highly anticipated Gunpla kits from the popular “Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX” series, as well as a new Figure-Rise character model kit.
“Gunpla,” a portmanteau of “Gundam plastic model,” refers to the extensive line of model kits based on the “Gundam” metaseries.

These kits, produced by Bandai, allow fans to build highly detailed and articulated replicas of mobile suits, characters, and vehicles from the franchise.
Various grades exist, from the simpler Entry Grade (EG) and High Grade (HG) to the intricate Perfect Grade (PG), each offering different levels of detail, articulation, and complexity, catering to builders of all skill levels.

The July 2025 lineup features a total of four new products, with two prominent High Grade (HG) kits from “Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX” leading the charge with a release date as early as July 5th.
“Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX” is a recently launched anime series that introduces an alternate Universal Century timeline, diverging significantly from the original “Mobile Suit Gundam” narrative.

In this reality, the Principality of Zeon achieved victory in the One Year War, leading to a changed world and new mobile suit designs which are now starting to be turned into Gunpla kits.
Let’s take a look at the new kits that will be coming out in July!
HG 1/144 Light Cannon

The Light Cannon is a new mobile suit design from “Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX”, serving as a light artillery unit.

Its design draws inspiration from classic artillery mobile suits like the RGM-79 GM and Guncannon from the original “Mobile Suit Gundam” series.

This Gunpla kit will be priced at 2,200 yen (approx. $15.06 USD / £11.19 GBP).

HG 1/144 Exabe Custom Gyan (Hakuji Equipment)

This kit represents the GQuuuuuuX version of the Gyan, a distinctive knight-like mobile suit that first appeared in the original “Mobile Suit Gundam” series.

The “Hakuji Equipment” variant features a gigantic “Hakuji” giant spear alongside other armaments.

It will be priced at for 2,860 yen (approximately $19.61 USD / £14.55 GBP).

Option Parts Set Gunpla 17 (Binder Gun)

The “Binder Gun” is an accessory designed to enhance existing High Grade (HG) Gunpla kits.

It consists of various components, including binder parts (large and small) and gun parts, along with numerous joint parts.

This allows builders to reconfigure it into different weapon modes, such as a sword or rifle, by attaching a grip to the binder.

It can also be mounted to a mobile suit’s backpack as a “binder” to improve posture control and add a dynamic aesthetic.

The options set will retail for 660 yen (approx. $4.50 USD / £3.33 GBP).
Figure-rise Standard Nyaan

Nyaan is a prominent character from “Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX,” a war refugee who draws the protagonist, Amate Yuzuriha, into the world of illegal mobile suit Clan Battles.
The Figure-Rise Standard model kit of Amate Yuzuriha was previously announced for release in June.

Figure-rise Standard kits are Bandai’s line of highly articulated character models, typically requiring assembly without glue and featuring pre-colored parts.

The Nyaan kit will come with accessories and interchangeable parts to allow for dynamic posing and recreation of scenes from the anime, including multiple facial expressions and parts to depict her in action.
It will go on sale for 4,180 yen (approx. $28.52 USD / £21.14 GBP).
Release Dates
The “HG 1/144 Light Cannon” and “HG 1/144 Exabe Custom Gyan (Hakuji Equipment)” will both be released on July 5th.

The release of the Option Parts Set Gunpla 17 (Binder Gun) will follow a week later on July 12th, while the Figure-rise Standard Nyaan will be released later in the month on July 26th.

These new releases will be available at general hobby retailers and online stores in Japan.
International availability for these products will vary, as BANDAI’s local distributors usually receive stock 1-2 months after the Japanese release of a product.
