Attack on Titan teams up with the world’s largest sauna for colossal new collaboration
Attack on Titan will be launching a limited time collaboration with the world’s largest sauna this summer.
From June to August, MONSTER WORK & SAUNA in Tokyo’s Kichijoji district will host a unique experience allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the world of Attack on Titan within a sauna setting.
Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin), based on Hajime Isayama’s manga, is a globally recognized franchise.
The series regularly collaborates with brands to create unique experiences and collectibles for fans, with a recent collaboration resulting in the release of three handcrafted watches based on Eren, Levi and Erwin.
MONSTER WORK & SAUNA, located just two minutes from Kichijoji Station, is a popular facility that is said to be home to “the world’s largest sauna room”.
The facility also has a large cold bath, with the complementing treatments designed to offer a unique wellness experience.
With Attack on Titan’s iconic Colossal Titan being known for its ability to release steam at will, the sauna setting for the collaboration is a perfect match.
The collaboration event will feature several elements designed to transport guests into the anime’s universe:
- “Escape the Scorching Heat!”
Guests can experience the intense temperatures of MONSTER WORK & SAUNA’s large sauna room, ranging from 70°C to 110°C.
This is described as feeling “like the overwhelming heat of the Titans’ power,” with powerful heatwaves on the top tier reminiscent of a Titan’s roar.
- “Overcome the Titans’ Heat Wave!”
Daily “Aufguss” sessions will be held to the backdrop of Attack on Titan background music.
These sessions aim to simulate the feeling of being attacked by Titans, enhancing the immersive experience.
Aufguss is a German sauna ritual where an “Aufgussmeister” uses a towel to fan essential oil-infused steam towards bathers, intensifying the heat and aroma.
- “Carve Your Memory, Return Victorious!”
Exclusive Attack on Titan collaboration merchandise will be available for purchase, including an original sauna hat modeled after the Colossal Titan.
These items are designed as “proof of surviving the battle” and can only be obtained at MONSTER WORK & SAUNA.
