Pokémon TCG teams up with Japan's most recognisable coffee brand

“BOSS” coffee will team up with the Pokémon trading card game this February to release a series of collaboration drinks.

“BOSS” is one of Japan’s most popular coffee brands, available in vending machines and convenience stores nationwide. The Pokémon trading card game has also reached new heights of popularity with the recent launch of Pokémon TCG Pocket.

This collaboration will see a new type of coffee launched, alongside new can art for 5 of “BOSS” coffee’s main existing products.

Set to launch on the 4th of February, demand is sure to be high as the new Pokémon themed coffee cans will no doubt become sought after items for collectors of the Pokémon TCG or other Pokémon themed merch.

The new product on offer will be “BOSS ex BITOU”, priced at 140 yen (approx. $0.89 USD/£0.71 GBP) per can, which uses the “ex” styling seen on certain powerful Pokémon card types alongside “BOSS” coffee’s iconic branding. The drink will be a lightly sweetened coffee that retains notes of richness and bitterness.

3 different can types of “BOSS ex BITOU” will be available, Eevee, Eevee ex and Flareon ex, known inside Japan as “Booster ex/ブースタ ex”.

The second drink to get a Pokémon TCG themed makeover will be “BOSS Rainbow Mountain Blend”, which will feature Sprigatito, Mimikyu and Tatsugiri:

Up next is “BOSS Luxury Light Sugar”, which will feature either Miraidon ex, Pikachu ex or Jolteon ex:

The next drink in the lineup is “Premium BOSS“, which sees Quaxly, Koraidon ex and Vaporeon ex grace the cans:

The penultimate drink in the “BOSS” coffee and Pokémon TCG collaboration is “BOSS Unsweetened BLACK”, which has Fuecoco, Charizard ex or Reshiram on the cans:

Finally “BOSS Café au Lait” will feature a simple Pikachu or Eevee design:

With 17 different types of Pokémon TCG themed coffee cans to collect, you’ll need to head to your nearest convenience store or vending machine as soon as possible on the 4th of February if you plan on catching them all!
