What to expect at Naha Marathon
Taking place in early December the Naha Marathon sees 30,000 runners aged 16 and above making their way around the Naha Peace Memorial Park Course.
The marathon begins at 09:00 on race day and has a completion time limit of 6 hours and 15 minutes.
The course begins at Okuyama Park and finishes at Onoyama Athletics Stadium, taking participants through both city and along the coastline, with checkpoints at halfway at the Peace Memorial Park and just after 34km at Naha Nursing School.
The event is met with great enthusiasm from locals who turn up to cheer on the runners.
