What to expect at Meiji Jingū Shrine Yabusame

Yabusame, or horseback archery, is one of the most popular events to happen at Meiji Shrine Autumn Grand Festival.

This sport requires an immense amount of skill and concentration, as an archer mounted on horseback shoots three special arrows successively at three wooden targets, while the horse is running.
