TeamLab Borderless Officially Passes The 1 Million Visitor Mark

In a statement released 1st October 2024, TeamLab Borderless announced they have now passed the 1 million visitor mark at their new location, just 8 months after re-opening.

Originally based in Odaiba, TeamLab Borderless relocated to Tokyo’s Azabudai Hills in 2024 following the 2022 closure of the Odaiba site.

The landmark number was officially reached on the 30th of September 2024, with the lucky millionth visitor receiving a free “tote bag with a time stamp” that could be created at Sketch Factory, as well as a “crayon with no colour name” that was individually handmade using recycled crayons that were used in teamLab Borderless’ artwork Sketch Ocean and had become too short to be used.

At the Sketch Factory area of the digital art museum, you can produce products (tote bags, T-shirts, handkerchiefs) designed with your visit time as a “timestamp.”

The “colour with no crayon name” is hand-made by a member of teamLab, meaning there are no two alike, making each one unique in the world.

The crayons are made from recycled crayons that have become too short to be used having been used in TeamLab’s Sketch Ocean and Graffiti Nature works.
