Wing Gundam Zero EW gets striking makeover for new model kit range from Bandai

From the acclaimed anime film “Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz,” the iconic Wing Gundam Zero EW has been reimagined as part of a new brand of Gunpla figures.

The new “CROSS CONTRAST COLORS” range of figure kits will look to create unique takes on classic mobile suits, creating a contrasting color scheme from the original.

The first release under this new brand is the “MG 1/100 Wing Gundam Zero EW [CROSS CONTRAST COLORS / CLEAR PURPLE].”

This new version of perhaps the most iconic mobile suit from the Endless Waltz film retains the same posing abilities as previous kits, with it being possible for the wings to be deployed and linked, along with the ability to create a Twin Buster Rifle firing pose.

It also features the signature ability to store the Twin Buster Rifle within the wings and transform into Neo-Bird mode.

The color scheme marks a dramatic departure from the original’s bright white aesthetic, as the “CROSS CONTRAST COLORS” version adopts a predominantly dark tone, utilizing clear and solid color designs.

Striking glossy red metallic accents and asymmetrical, mirror-finish silver decals that appear to “corrode” the mobile suit’s surface add a layer of dazzling visual complexity.

The new “MG 1/100 Wing Gundam Zero EW [CROSS CONTRAST COLORS / CLEAR PURPLE]” model kit is priced at 7,150 yen (tax included, approx. $49.67 USD/£37.38 GBP) and will be available from April 26th, 2025, at select ‘The Gundam Base’ stores and hobby products stockists across Japan and online.
