“WIND BREAKER” teams up with kimono rental service to offer new experience for anime fans this summer
Fans of the popular anime “WIND BREAKER” are in for a treat this summer, as kimono rental service VASARA has announced an exciting collaboration featuring the members of “Bofurin”.
VASARA has previously held collaboration events with other series, with an earlier collab in 2025 seeing them team up with Attack on Titan.
The key visuals, created specially for the collaboration, showcase Haruka Sakura, Hayato Suo, Ren Kaji, Tasuku Tsubakino, and Hajime Umemiya adorned in traditional Japanese attire.
As part of VASARA’s desire to make wearing kimono more accessible and enjoyable, the collaboration with “WIND BREAKER” offers a special kimono rental plan bundled with exclusive character merchandise.

Kimono Rental Plan with 4-Piece Goods Set
During the collaboration period, customers can enjoy a special kimono rental plan that includes a 4-piece merchandise set themed around each of the five characters.
Each character’s 4-piece goods set includes an acrylic badge, a fan (uchiwa), a clear card, and a collaboration tote bag, along with a standard kimono rental plan.
Customers can upgrade to non-standard kimono options at the store on the day of rental.
During the collaboration, customers who use the kimono rental plan can take a photo of themselves and share it to X using the hashtag ‘#WinbreBasara’ to receive a limited edition postcard featuring the collab artwork:
Limited Edition Official Merchandise Sales
Original collaboration merchandise will be available for purchase at participating VASARA stores and through their online store.
Sales Information:
- In-store: Available only to customers using the kimono rental plan during the collaboration period.
- Online Sales: From 12:00 PM on Thursday, May 15th, 2025, to 12:00 PM on Monday, June 30th, 2025.
For every 2,000 yen spent on collab merchandise, customers will receive 1 original holographic clear card, which is designed to look like an obi clasp.
Availability of merchandise may differ between physical stores and the online shop and purchase limits may be implemented by stores depending on stock levels.
Character Panel Displays
Select VASARA stores will feature life-sized character panels of Sakura, Suo, Kaji, Tsubakino, and Umemiya in their kimono attire.
This offers a fantastic opportunity for fans to take commemorative photos with their favorite characters in their elegant outfits.

The collaboration will kick off on Thursday, May 15th, 2025, though it will be possible to make reservations starting from the 24th of April.
Packages can be booked until the final date of the event, which will be the 30th of June 2025.
