UNIQLO to release Gundam 45th anniversary collection

In celebration of the 45th anniversary of the anime series Mobile Suit Gundam, Uniqlo has announced the release of a special apparel line.

The UT (Uniqlo T-shirt) branded collection will featuring exclusive designs inspired by the iconic mecha franchise.

Uniqlo have shared a piece of artwork the have called the “MS Big Gathering Pattern”, which they have commissioned to celebrate the anniversary.

The MS Big Gathering Pattern art features some of the most iconic Gundams from the series history

This art features a compilation of various Mobile Suits (MS) from across the Gundam universe including Zeta Gundam, the original RX-78-1 Gundam, God/Burning Gundam, Wing Gundam Zero, Turn A Gundam, Freedom Gundam, Unicorn Gundam and Justice Gundam.

This selection of Mobile Suits spans several generations of the Gundam franchise, reflecting the series’ long lasting popularity and its various iterations that have framed their stories in genres such as military drama, space opera and martial arts.

Uniqlo’s “Mobile Suit Gundam 45th Anniversary UT/Relaxed Fit” collection will contain four different t-shirts.

Each shirt will be priced at 1,990 yen (approx. $13.60 USD / £10.37 GBP) and the available designs are:

MS Big Gathering Pattern

This shirt features the a specially commissioned image of Mobile Suits from across the Gundam series.

Mobile Suit Gundam

This design is inspired by the original 1979 Mobile Suit Gundam anime.

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED

This shirt features a series of Gundams from the popular 2002 anime series Mobile Suit Gundam SEED.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Witch from Mercury

This design features artwork from the recent 2022 anime series Mobile Suit Gundam: Witch from Mercury.

The shirts will be available in a wide range of sizes, from XS to 4XL. The relaxed fit aims to make them comfortable and versatile when worn everyday.

The collection can be viewed on Uniqlo’s website now and will be available to order from Monday, April 14th, 2025.
