Narita Airport’s Pokémon Store relocates due to increased tourism

One of the most popular stores for outbound tourists, Narita Airport’s Pokémon Store will be relocating in 2025 as demand has resulted in it outgrowing its current location.

The Pokemon Store currently located in Terminal 2 will close at the end of the day on the 13th of January 2025 to be relocated to Terminal 1.

Due to well publicised increased tourism to Japan, the current store cannot support the level of customers that want to purchase Pokémon related goods, such as Narita Airport store exclusive Pikachu plushies, prior to leaving Japan.

For a short period, Narita Airport will be left without a Pokémon Store, as the new store in Terminal 1 will open two weeks after the original stores closure, on the 27th of January 2025.

The new Pokémon Store at Narita Airport Terminal 1 will be open daily from 09:00 to 20:00 and will be located on the 4th floor alongside the international departure lobby, check-in counters and security screening.

By relocating to a larger store, there are hopes that the customer experience will improve and more travellers will take the opportunity to purchase Pokémon goods either for themselves, or as gifts, before departing Japan.
