Tokyo Station’s new official Bandai Gashapon store set to open
Tokyo Station will soon be home to an official Bandai Gashapon store.
The new store will be located within the Tokyo Character Street shopping area on the first basement floor of Tokyo Station, which is known for its concentration of character-themed stores.
This new store will feature 144 Gashapon vending machines, offering a wide assortment of capsule toys, ranging from character-based merchandise to items inspired by popular media.
The store will function not only as a retail outlet but also as a brand information center, featuring a dedicated branding corner that showcases the latest developments and initiatives related to Bandai’s Gashapon brand.
Recognizing the high volume of international tourists passing through Tokyo Station, the “Gashapon Bandai Official Shop @ TOKYO STATION” will also incorporate multilingual video displays to facilitate engagement with tourists.
To commemorate the store’s opening, several special promotions and product releases are planned including 2 commerative pre-sale items:
- “The Bear School – Sandwiches Deluxe” – 1 of 5 types supplied at random – 300 yen (approx. $2.03 USD/£1.57 GBP)
- “Tamagotchi Mini Folding Container” (Flat Gashapon) – 1 of 4 types supplied at random – 500 yen (approx. $3.39 USD/£2.63 GBP)
Customers will also receive a complimentary sticker, while supplies last (1 per person):

The “Gashapon Bandai Official Shop @ TOKYO STATION” will open on to the public on Wednesday, March 19th.
It will be open each day from 10:00 AM to 8:30 PM.
