Take a look inside Japan’s sold out Sakura Miku themed hotel room

Lucky guests will soon be enjoying a “Sakura Miku” themed hotel room at the Hirosaki Plaza Hotel.
The hotel is welcoming the return of its highly popular Sakura Miku room, which this year features an updated design for the “Hirohako Spring Tourism Campaign 2025”.

The room was so popular that it sold out shortly after the hotel started accepting bookings on March 14th.
The first guests will stay in the room from Friday, April 11th, as it opens several days prior to the start of the Hirosaki Sakura Festival.
The “Hirohako Spring Tourism Campaign” is a joint effort between Hirosaki City in Aomori Prefecture and Hakodate City in Hokkaido, and sees the two cities partnering with Sakura Miku, the cherry blossom-themed version of the virtual pop idol Hatsune Miku, and the official mascot of the Hirosaki Sakura Festival.
The Sakura Miku room at the Hirosaki Plaza Hotel has undergone a significant upgrade from its previous iteration, promising an even better experience for fans.
The bedspread in the “Sakura Miku Room” has been specially decorated with “Kogin embroidery”, a traditional form of needlework unique to the Tsugaru region of Aomori Prefecture, where Hirosaki is located.
This regional craft element adds a layer of local authenticity and style to the room.

The entire guest room has also been decorated with Sakura Miku imagery.
A key feature of this year’s design is a large tapestry showing Sakura Miku alongside Hirosaki Castle and surrounded by cherry blossoms.
Complementing the tapestry is a large poster featuring the 2025 main visual for the “Hirohako” campaign, welcoming guests with a nostalgic blend of Japanese and Western aesthetics set against a backdrop of night time cherry blossoms.

Adding a touch of kawaii charm, cute chibi illustrations of Sakura Miku adorn the window glass and mirrors within the room.
These playful depictions are interspersed with motifs of cherry blossoms and apples, the latter being an important agricultural product of the Hirosaki region.

Guests who have reserved a stay in the Sakura Miku room will also receive exclusive commemorative goods as a special memento of their experience.
For single occupancy bookings, guests could choose between “Course A” or “Course B” of these limited-edition items.
Guests booking for double occupancy had the option to select their preferred combination of these courses, choosing from A&A, B&B, or A&B pairings.
The Course A package includes a Sakura Miku-themed cushion, a large badge featuring the character, and an original collaboration T-shirt (vailable in size L only).

The Course B package features the same commemorative goods offered last spring and includes a Sakura Miku mug, an acrylic stand featuring the character, and an original collaboration T-shirt (available in size XL only).

Guests staying in the “Sakura Miku Room” will have access to an original digital photo frame.
By scanning a QR code located within the room using their smartphones, guests can unlock and take photos using a unique digital photo frame exclusive to hotel residents.
This digital souvenir can even be used outside the hotel premises at various tourist facilities, such as Hirosaki Park, by bookmarking the web address the QR code links to before leaving the hotel.
The Hirosaki Plaza Hotel’s Sakura Miku room will be available for the full period of the “Hirohako Spring Tourism Campaign” between Friday, April 11th, 2025, to Saturday, May 31st, 2025.
Due to its immense popularity among fans, the Sakura Miku Room is already sold out but the hotel has indicated that any information regarding cancellations and potential re-sales will be communicated via the official Hirohako X (formerly Twitter) account.

If you are able to take advantage of a cancellation, the pricing for a one-night stay in the twin-bed “Sakura Miku Room” varies depending on the period and the number of guests:
