This unprecedented feat marks a significant achievement in Japanese cinema history.

To celebrate this incredible milestone, the series’ original creator, Gosho Aoyama, has gifted fans with a special congratulatory illustration.

The artwork depicts Kogoro Mouri, who plays a significant role in the latest film, holding a glass and muttering, “It reached 10 billion yen, huh… Wani…”

The illustration evokes a poignant moment as Kogoro seemingly remembers his deceased friend, Koji Samezaki, whose nickname was “Wani” (crocodile).

The “Detective Conan” movie series has been on a record-breaking streak in recent years.
