New official Godzilla store opens in Tokyo's Shibuya

A new official Godzilla store will open in one of Tokyo’s most popular areas this April.

The fifth officially sanctioned Godzilla merchandise retail location in Japan, known as Godzilla Store Shibuya, is scheduled to commence operations at Shibuya PARCO on Friday, April 25th, 2025, in the popular Shibuya district, recognized as one of Japan’s most iconic cultural hubs.

The store will feature artwork showing the evolution of Godzilla throughout the ages

Upon entering Godzilla Store Shibuya, visitors will be greeted by an imposing two-meter-tall statue of Godzilla as depicted in its ‘Burning Godzilla’ form from 1995’s “Godzilla vs. Destoroyah”!

Customers will be greeted by a 2m tall statue of ‘Burning Godzilla’, complete with fire effects and music

This impressive figure is an entirely new model, specifically created and designed for the Godzilla Store Shibuya.

At designated times, this statue will activate a dynamic display featuring sound effects and musical scores from the Godzilla universe, accompanied by the illumination of its body, transitioning into the visually striking ‘Burning Godzilla’ form.

LED panels strategically positioned around the Godzilla statue will enhance the storefront ambiance with captivating video effects.

Godzilla Store Shibuya will also introduce a new and exclusive Godzilla-themed apparel brand.

This brand will offer a diverse range of clothing items featuring a stylish and impactful “G” logo, suitable for both professional work environments and everyday wear.

A dedicated section within the store will showcase “GODZILLA THE ART,” an ongoing art project commemorating the 70th anniversary of Godzilla’s creation, which initially commenced at Shibuya PARCO and has toured Japan as an exhibition.

This corner will also feature newly created artworks by COIN PARKING DELIVERY, an artist participating in the “GODZILLA THE ART” project.

Additionally, limited-edition figures released specifically to commemorate the “GODZILLA THE ART” project will be available for purchase:

To celebrate the grand opening of Godzilla Store Shibuya, the store will offer exclusive, limited-edition merchandise featuring Burning Godzilla in the urban landscape of Shibuya, directly referencing the prominent statue displayed within the store:
