YOASOBI releases new song for PlayStation 30th Anniversary Project

On Friday, March 21st, 2025, YOASOBI released a brand-new song titled “PLAYERS.”
This song was composed specifically for the “Project: MEMORY CARD” project, which is designed to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the original PlayStation®’s release.

The project, centered around the concept of “saving PlayStation memories in music,” invited individuals to share stories about “games they wish they could erase their memories of and play again.”
The song “PLAYERS” was subsequently created using the collected “#MemoryOfPlay” submissions.
The song is a pop-oriented track that begins with a memorable shout and cultivates an uplifting atmosphere through a repeated chorus phrase.
The lyrics convey a positive message, suggesting that the experiences and lessons learned from protagonists and narratives encountered within the game world can provide motivation in real life and foster optimism for the future.
A 30th-anniversary special commercial, which incorporates the newly released song, was released.
The commercial features a notable cast of voice actors, including actress Nanase Nishino, VTuber Pekora Usada, and game commentator Kiyo.

The characters depicted in the commercial are inspired by each of the performers and narrate a story about how they embark on a journey into the world of games after discovering a mysterious memory card.
The project’s dedicated website is currently publishing users submitted “#MemoryOfPlay”, which offer an insight into the inspiration behind the new song.
It is hoped that listeners and viewers will appreciate this special song and commercial, which have been created from the shared love and memories of games contributed by musicians, actors, VTubers, game commentators, and game enthusiasts throughout Japan.
