Mackenyu joins star-studded lineup at Osaka Comic Con 2025
Osaka Comic Con is once again poised to be a tremendously successful event this year, boasting an impressive roster of confirmed celebrity guests.
Among the guests scheduled to attend to convention between Friday 2nd May and Sunday 4th May are Sung Kang, Mads Mikkelsen, Hugh Dancy, Emily Rudd, Daniel Logan, Christina Ricci, Edward Furlong, Nicolas Cage, and Bill Skarsgård, each bringing their unique star power to the highly anticipated convention.
Adding to the excitement and building anticipation with less than a month remaining until the event’s commencement, a final celebrity guest has been officially announced today: the acclaimed actor Mackenyu Arata will be joining the stellar lineup of attendees!
Mackenyu is scheduled to be present at Osaka Comic Con for two full days, specifically on the 3rd and the 4th of May.
During his appearance on these two days, fans will have the exciting opportunity to participate in scheduled photo sessions and autograph signings at the venue, providing memorable interactions with the talented actor.
Mackenyu Arata commenced his professional entertainment career in Japan in the year 2014 and has since garnered significant recognition for his appearances in numerous successful films.
Notable among these are “Rurouni Kenshin: The Final” released in 2021 and the “Fullmetal Alchemist” film series which premiered in 2022, solidifying his status as a prominent figure in Japanese cinema.
Further highlighting his early career achievements, Mackenyu was honored with the Newcomer Award at the prestigious 40th Japan Academy Awards for his compelling performance in the “Chihayafuru” film trilogy (released in 2016 and 2018), a film adaptation based on a highly popular manga series, showcasing his acting prowess and versatility.
In recent years, Mackenyu has expanded his professional endeavors onto the global stage, leveraging his fluency in English as a significant asset in international projects.
In 2023, he achieved a notable milestone by starring in his first Hollywood film, “Saint Seiya The Beginning,” also known internationally as “Knights of the Zodiac,” marking his entry into the Western film industry.

Mackenyu’s continued success and rising international profile are further underscored by his recent selection for the pivotal role of Roronoa Zoro, a central character, in the highly anticipated live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s immensely popular manga series, “ONE PIECE”!
In this adaptation, Mackenyu showcases his remarkable agility and light-footed action, effectively utilizing his natural physical abilities, alongside his impressive mastery of swordsmanship, bringing the iconic character to life in a new medium.
Adding even more excitement for fans, during the scheduled photo session opportunities at Osaka Comic Con, attendees will also have the special chance to have their photograph taken alongside Emily Rudd, who portrays the character of Nami in the live-action adaptation of “ONE PIECE,” creating a unique and memorable fan experience.
It has also been officially announced that Mackenyu and Emily Rudd will together make a joint appearance on stage at Osaka Comic Con.
This special on-stage event is scheduled to take place at 10:30 a.m. on the final day of the convention, Sunday the 4th, offering attendees a unique opportunity to see these two “ONE PIECE” stars together.
