Limited edition “Obey Me!” Japanese style backpack seeks backers for crowdfunded project

A range of exclusive backpacks based on the popular otome game “Obey Me!” have become available to order via a new crowdfunding style service in Japan.
Hiromori Co. has announced a new partnership with NTT Solmare Corporation, the game’s developer, to launch collaborative merchandise sales.
As the first initiative under this collaboration, a special “Obey Me! Limited Edition Japanese Design Backpack” will be available for purchase starting from April 28th.

Sales will be facilitated through Hiromori’s “FANMACHI” service, marking a significant step for both companies in expanding their content and merchandise reach to meet the strong demand from fans, both domestically and internationally.
NTT Solmare, aiming to further cultivate its content business, sought a solution for producing and selling original goods that cater to the dedicated fanbase of “Obey Me!,” a mobile game centered around interactions with seven demon brothers from the Devildom.

Recognizing the significant support for the IP, particularly in the American market, NTT Solmare prioritized a sales strategy that encompassed both domestic and overseas distribution.
Hiromori’s “FANMACHI” platform emerged as the ideal solution, offering the necessary functionality to address NTT Solmare’s needs, including merchandise planning, production, sales management, and inventory optimization.
A key feature of “FANMACHI” is its non-inventory premium goods sales service, where production occurs only after a predetermined number of orders is reached.

This eliminates the risk of unsold stock, allowing for the creation of unique and distinctive original goods that resonate with fans.
The system effectively works as a crowdfunding platform, allowing IP holders to create designs but not actually proceed with production unless there is the guarantee of sufficient orders to make a profit.
By minimising losses to only the cost of the time taken to create the product design, the companies behind popular IP’s and series will be protected from endeavours that may hinder their available funds to create further content for fans.
The platform also incorporates a survey function, enabling the collection of valuable feedback and requests from purchasers, fostering stronger relationships and ongoing engagement with the “Obey Me!” community.

“FANMACHI” provides a comprehensive service from merchandise development to order fulfillment, payment processing, and delivery, streamlining the process for NTT Solmare and contributing to sales revenue.
Crucially, the platform supports cross-border sales through dedicated sales sites and offers logistics for direct delivery to overseas users, opening up opportunities for global IP expansion.
The inaugural product of this partnership, the “Obey Me! Limited Edition Japanese Pattern Design Backpack,” will be available simultaneously to fans in both Japan and the United States.

The backpack features an original design incorporating traditional Japanese motifs and showcases the seven popular characters from “Obey Me!”
This hard-shell backpack also includes a unique customization feature, allowing users to insert interchangeable design sheets featuring the characters, offering a way for fans to express their individual preferences and deepen their connection with the “Obey Me!” universe.

Designed for versatility, the backpack is suitable for travel, commuting, and various everyday situations, allowing fans to display their passion for “Obey Me!” with pride.
