HMV Japan expands its trading card game specialty shop portfolio

HMV Japan has announced that they will be expanding their growing network of trading card game specialty shops across Japan.

The 9th location is set to open on the 24th of October 2024 inside the existing HMV store in AEON MALL Chiba New Town.

After opening their first “HMV Trading Card Shop” in 2022, growing customer demands for trading card products have led to further expansion by Lawson Entertainment, who operate HMV stores across Japan.

The HMV trading card shops see space in existing HMV locations converted into a dedicated trading card store and event space.

The new “HMV Trading Card Shop AEON Mall Chiba New Town” will not only sell new and used trading cards, but it will also sell trading card related goods and offer a second-hand purchase service.

The store will also be equipped with a battle space, so that customers can test out products purchased in store and to encourage a sense of in store community by inviting customers to play together.

The new store will be the 9th location of the “HMV Trading Card” stores, with the others located in the following popular locations across Japan:
