Genki Sudo’s WORLD ORDER returns after 4 year hiatus

Japanese dance and music unit WORLD ORDER has returned with a new single.

WORLD ORDER was formed in 2009 by former mixed martial artist Genki Sudo, who competed in organisations such as Pancrase, K-1 and the UFC before venturing into the worlds of acting, politics and music following his retirement.

The group is a seven-member dance and music unit known for their distinctive blend of robotic choreography and visual presentation.

Their first single in 4 years is called “NEO SAMURAI” and is a powerful fusion of traditional Japanese samurai ethos and a contemporary, futuristic worldview.

The song aims to project the core values of samurai culture, such as pride, courtesy, and bushido into the 21st century, presenting a reimagined image of the “neo samurai” for a modern audience.

The music video features performances in locations such as Akihabara’s Kanda Myojin Shrine

“NEO SAMURAI” combines elements of traditional Japanese music with modern beats to create a soundscape that bridges the past and a hopeful future.

As with other WORLD ORDER tracks, it also carries a message of social responsibility.

The accompanying music video (MV) for “NEO SAMURAI” serves as a striking visual representation of the song’s themes.

It features the WORLD ORDER members clad in unique outfits that blend traditional Japanese armor with contemporary business suits, mixing historical and modern aesthetics.

The groups usual business suits have been given a Samurai upgrade

The choreography incorporates sharp, precise movements reminiscent of sword techniques alongside the group’s signature robotic dance style.

The synchronized performance is a hallmark of WORLD ORDER’s performances and is huge part of their appeal.

The video also features synchronized movement through crowds

Dressed in standard business suits, they present an image of conventional Japanese businessmen, yet their unique performances are anything but conventional.

Since they were formed, the group has gained a dedicated fanbase, particularly in Asia and Europe.

Fans are drawn to their millimeter-precise robotic dance routines and unique visual style.

Their signature track, “HAVE A NICE DAY,” has amassed over 52 million views on YouTube, demonstrating their global appeal.

The video draws parallels between the Samurai era and modern life

Genki Sudo, shared his perspective on the group’s return and the message behind “NEO SAMURAI”:

“I believe that many people today are experiencing a sense of stagnation and blockage within society.

In response to this, we have decided to restart WORLD ORDER, challenging ourselves to create new forms of expression that fuse the spirit of the samurai with modern society, and to reinvigorate Japan.

This work is imbued with the energy of transforming the pride and discipline rooted in tradition into a force for the future.

We believe that each of us can become a ‘new samurai’, shaping our own realities with our own hands. It would be my greatest pleasure if this feeling resonates with you.”

The music video is now available on YouTube

The “NEO SAMURAI” single represents another bold artistic statement from WORLD ORDER and fans will no doubt be hoping for the group to follow up this return with more new music.
