Yakuza vending machines to be installed in series real life location
The Yakuza game series, known in Japan as Ryu ga Gotoku, is no stranger to collaborations. With recent team ups including a themed sake, another new collaboration is set to start on the 8th of December.
5 officially licensed Yakuza themed vending machines are set to be installed in the Kabukicho area of Shinjuku, which is the real life inspiration for the Kamurocho setting seen in the Yakuza games.
The Yakuza vending machines will feature popular characters Kazuma Kiryu, Goro Majima, Ichiban Kasuga, Taiga Saejima and Daigo Dojima.
3 different types of exclusive goods will be available to purchase from the machines – an “I Love Kamurocho” T-Shirt priced at 3,900 yen (approx. $25.03 USD/£19.76 GBP), character keyholders priced at 1,100 yen (approx. $7.06 USD/£5.57 GBP) and character acrylic blocks priced at 1,500 yen (approx. $9.63 USD/£7.60 GBP).
A stamp rally will also be held when the Yakuza vending machines are installed, allowing visitors to scan a QR code next to each machine to collect virtual stamps. Once all stamps have been collected, you can enter a prize draw to win exclusive prizes!
Locations for each of the machines are set to be announced imminently prior to the installation date of the 8th of December, so make sure you check back closer to the time to find out where you can find each machine!
The goods sold in the vending machine will also be available online at a later date, with details of the sales website also yet to be confirmed by ProRelation Co. Ltd, the company responsible for the collaboration.
