Wear the ultimate lifeform – COSPA releases Shadow the Hedgehog sukajan
With the release of the highly anticipated film Sonic the Hedgehog 3 almost upon us, fans are eagerly awaiting Shadow the Hedgehog’s film debut.
Japanese clothing manufacturer COSPA is clearly aware of the excitement behind Shadow’s appearance and have announced the release of a Shadow the Hedgehog themed sukajan.
A sukajan, or souvenir jacket, is a blouse style jacket that dates back to the Second World War.
Utilising embroidery, silk and Japanese fashion influences, sukajans are often now seen as souvenirs in tourist spots or to commemorate specific events.
The Shadow sukajan is described by COSPA as being a lightweight jacket that is suitable to be worn year round, with a red and black color scheme.
The back of the jacket has Shadow embroidered as the main feature, with his name underneath and with the jacket set to be sold in COSPA stores throughout Japan, the word “Japan” is also emblazoned on the back, making it the perfect souvenir to take back home from Japan for fans of the Sonic series and Shadow.
The emblem of the Black Arms is embroidered on the front left breast area of the jacket, recognisable to those who have played both 2005’s Shadow the Hedgehog and 2024’s Shadow Generations.
Priced at 20,900 yen (approx. $135.34 USD/£108.16 GBP) and available in sizes M/L/XL, reservations for the Shadow the Hedgehog sukajan can now be made through COSPA’s official website until the 15th of December. Reservations may be extended beyond this date, though this will be stock dependent.
It’s worth noting that COSPA do not ship direct to international customers, so you’ll need to use a proxy service such as Tenso or Buyee if you’re based outside of Japan.
The jacket is expected to release in March 2025, so you’ll have plenty of time to plan outfits to pair your new Shadow the Hedgehog themed sukajan with once you’ve ordered.
