Japanese game devs “moze” and “ambr” have jointly won the grand prize in the Roblox × Attack on Titan Experience Creation Contest, winning the opportunity to develop the official Attack on Titan game for Roblox.
This contest, co-organized by Kodansha and GeekOut, sought Roblox experience (game) ideas based on the globally popular manga “Attack on Titan.”.
Entrants created games based on the series and submitted them for entry earlier this year, with the winners having been announced on the 17th of December.
The winning games are set to receive development funding totalling up to $1.5 million, along with production support from Kodansha Game Creators Lab (GCL) and GeekOut, including post-release operation support.
Japanese developers “moze” and “ambr” jointly participated in the contest with a game titled “Hungry Titan”.
They impressively won the grand prize and were the only Japanese entrants to be selected.
Two other winners of the grand prize were also announced – Twin Atlas, who are set to create the Attack on Titan: Guardians RP game and Bulk Games with their entry, PlayAOTT.
As a result of winning the contest, each developer will work to craft official Attack on Titan Roblox games on the massive Roblox platform, which boasts over 350 million monthly active users worldwide.
“moze” and “ambr” have stated that they aim to express the appeal of the globally beloved “Attack on Titan” on the new stage of Roblox, showcasing the potential of Japanese creativity to the world.
“moze” are one of Japan’s cutting-edge Roblox studios, whose vision is to “explode the Roblox ecosystem from Japan.”.
They have developed multiple Roblox games, such as “Find the Dragons Morphs” and “Place the stickers” and have garnered support from users both in Japan and overseas.
In particular, “Find the Dragons Morphs,” which was co-developed with DEVLOX, has been played a total of 1.5 million times, making it one of the top 10 most popular Roblox content from Japan.
The latest development information will be shared through official social media channels, so that fans can get the latest updates on the development progress and enjoy a new Attack on Titan adventure together with the development team.
