PRONTO adds two new sakura themed menu items for spring 2025

Spring’s arrival sees not only the spread of cherry blossoms across Japan, it also heralds the arrival of sakura themed treats at cafes across the country.
Starbucks Japan and local coffee house chain Doutor have already released details about the new sakura themed additions to their menus, and now rival chain PRONTO have revealed their new drinks lineup for spring 2025.

PRONTO will be launching two new limited-edition drinks, the “Sakura Warabimochi Latte” and the “Sakura Milk Tea”.
PRONTO has a unique concept when compared to other Japanese cafés – most stores operate as a coffee house and café from opening until 5:30pm, before changing to a bar style menu with alcoholic drinks.

Both of the new sakura themed menu items will be available during “café time” hours at PRONTO locations across the country.
Sakura Warabimochi Latte
The chains popular “P Latte” range will see the addition of the “Sakura Warabimochi Latte”.

The “P” in “P Latte” stands for both “PRONTO” and “parfait,” reflecting the drink’s dessert-like nature.
P Latte’s are also topped with PRONTO’s signature “P” cookies and whipped cream, offering a satisfying treat for patrons with a sweet tooth.
The “Sakura Warabi Mochi Latte” layers soft warabi mochi – a traditional jelly-like confection – with fragrant cherry blossom leaves, sakura-infused milk, and a shot of bitter espresso.
As well as whipped cream and “P”-shaped cookies, the drink is topped with light cherry blossom flavored chocolate, and salted cherry blossoms.
Pricing for the “Sakura Warabi Mochi Latte” has been confirmed as 715 yen (approx. $4.69 USD / £3.72 GBP) for a regular drink and 803 yen (approx. $5.27 USD / £4.18 GBP) for a large drink.
Warabi mochi is a traditional Japanese sweet made from bracken starch, it adds a unique chewy element to the drink, contrasting with the creamy milk and the crisp chocolate.
It has proven to be a popular addition to seasonal menus this year, as it has been featured in the newest Sakura Frappuccino from Starbucks, as well as Gong Cha’s New Years green tea drink.

Sakura Milk Tea
PRONTO’s second spring offering is the “Sakura Milk Tea” which is a more classic milk tea with a sakura twist.

Aromatic Ceylon tea is infused with the delicate scent of cherry blossoms and then combined with steamed milk that has been imbued with cherry blossom flavor.
The drink is then garnished with cherry blossoms, creating a visually appealing and fragrant cup that captures the essence of spring.
The “Sakura Milk Tea” is only available as a large sized drink and will cost 550 yen (approx. $3.61 USD / £2.86 GBP).
Both items will be available to drink in store and as take-out drinks from PRONTO stores from 18th February, as well as the chains IL BAR locations.
