Moomin Shop Patisserie opens first permanent store at Tokyo Station
The enchanting world of Moominvalley is expanding to Tokyo’s famous JR Tokyo Station.
Moomin Shop Patisserie has normally been ran as a pop-up experience, which has been so popular with fans that the decision has been made to open a permanent location.
Tokyo Station has been announced as the home of the first permanent store, marking a significant milestone for the Moomin Shop Patisserie brand.
Moomin Shop Patisserie was first conceived in January 2024 and embarked on a year-long journey across Japan with a series of pop-up shops offering a delightful array of sweets.
Now, it will soon settle into its permanent home, offering a continuous stream of Moomin-inspired treats.
A portion of the sales proceeds from the new store will be donated to the Nature Conservation Society of Japan (NACS-J), supporting crucial initiatives in nature and biodiversity conservation.

Cream Sandwich Cookies

The patisserie’s star attraction are the “Cream Sandwich Cookies” which have been immensely popular, selling over 470,000 units during the stores its pop-up phase.
Each flavor is crafted with rich, milky white soy chocolate and real fruit or nut pastes.
These thick, crispy cookies feature three distinct flavors: walnut (Moomin design), strawberry (Little My design), and pistachio (Snufkin design).
The packaging is adorned with charming illustrations of Moominmamma and Little My.
Maple Nut Cookies
11 pieces – 1,512 yen ($10.03 USD / £7.96 GBP)
Another popular offering are the “Maple Nut Cookies” which are baked in the shape of the Hattifatteners.
These cookies, infused with maple sugar and an abundance of nuts, offer a delightful blend of sweet and nutty flavors.
The packaging, featuring Moomin gazing at the Hattifatteners, transforms into a miniature pop-up book when opened.
Cranberry Chocolate Cake
For chocolate lovers, the “Cranberry Chocolate Cake” is a must-try.
Made with 70% cacao fruity chocolate and packed with tart cranberries, this cake boasts a rich, melt-in-your-mouth texture.
The packaging is designed to resemble a cherished moment between Moominmamma and Moominpappa.
Merchandise
Moomin Shop Patisserie is also introducing a range of exclusive merchandise.
The “Moomin Shop Patisserie Tote Bag” is crafted from durable canvas, features the shop’s logo and offers ample storage space.
The “Moomin Shop Patisserie Mug” is adorned with an illustration of Moominmamma and Little My.
The “Moomin Shop Patisserie Eco Bag” is made from 100% recycled polyester fabric and showcases an all-over print of Moominmamma and Little My.
To commemorate the grand opening, Moomin Shop Patisserie is launching a special campaign.
The store will open on Wednesday, March 5th, 2025 and all customers who make a purchase will receive an original sticker featuring the shop’s logo. This campaign will continue while supplies last.
