Ichiran to open in one of Saitama’s busiest train stations

Travelers at Saitama’s Omiya Station will soon be able to experience Ichiran’s famous tonkotsu ramen.

The ramen chain will soon open their “Ichiran Omiya Ekimae Store” which will be located close to the east exit of Omiya Station in Saitama City.

An exact opening date has not yet been confirmed, but Ichiran anticipate that the new restaurant will be open by early summer 2025.

The new restaurant will be located close to Omiya Station

Ichiran specializes in Hakata-style tonkotsu ramen, a style of ramen characterized by its pork bone broth which originated in Hakata.

Hakata was a town that now forms the central district of Fukuoka City where Ichiran have their headquarters.

The new location’s proximity to Omiya Station is deliberate, given the station’s high passenger traffic and the surrounding business areas.

Omiya Station is a major transportation hub within Saitama Prefecture, serving as a convergence point for various rail lines, including the Shinkansen, the Tohoku Main Line, the Saikyo Line, the Keihin-Tohoku Line, and the Tobu Urban Park Line.

Many Ichiran stores also sell kits to help you make their famous ramen at home

The station’s location contributes to the high volume of daily passenger traffic while the surrounding area encompasses a mix of commercial and residential zones, featuring business districts, dining establishments, and retail outlets.

Ichiran have a large number restaurants in similar areas close to the exits of major Japanese railways station including Tokyo’s Ueno Station and Osaka’s Umeda Station.

The new Omiya Station restaurant has a small number of seats, with only 24 available to customers.

Ichiran restaurants typically feature individual booths for diners

This is common for Ichiran restaurants as diners typically order via a ticket machine and are served quickly, resulting in a high turnover of customers.
