Gloomy Bear meets jirai kei in new fashion range

Gloomy Bear celebrates their 25th anniversary this year, which in typical Japanese fashion means that various brand collaborations will be launched throughout the year.

The first Gloomy Bear brand collab in this anniversary year is with fashion retailer SPINNS and their DARRDY sub-brand.

DARRDY is a brand of clothing rooted in the jirai kei or “landmine” fashion sub-culture.

This collaboration between DARRDY and Gloomy also includes Hanyo Usagi, another character from Gloomy’s creator Mori Chack.

A range of items have been produced, including both clothing and accessories, with the intention of allowing fans to create a complete outfit based on either character.

The collaboration goods include cute character berets, fur blousons, oversized sweatshirts, all-over pattern shirts and all-over pattern skirts.

All items produced in this collab are larger in size than normal, so that they can be enjoyed by both men and women.

The DARRDY x Gloomy Bear collaboration will see the release of a total of 16 new items:

Fur Blouson – 10,989 yen (approx. $69.72 USD/£55.69 GBP) each

BIG Sweatshirt – 6,589 yen (approx. $41.80 USD/£33.39 GBP) each

Damaged BIG Hoodie – 7,689 yen (approx. $48.78 USD/£38.97 GBP)

Patterned Shirt – 5,489 yen (approx. $34.82 USD/£27.82 GBP)

Patterned Skirt – 4,950 yen (approx. $31.40 USD/£25.08 GBP)

Mirror – 1,320 yen (approx. $8.37 USD/£6.69 GBP)

Beret – 3,850 yen (approx. $24.42 USD/£19.51 GBP) each
