Exclusive 'The Apothecary Diaries' merch coming to Don Quijote in new collab

Popular anime series ‘The Apothecary Diaries’ and Japan’s top discount store Don Quijote are teaming up to release a range of exclusive goods.

A new line of merchandise inspired by the series is set to launch at select Don Quijote stores across Japan starting from mid-May.

The merchandise will be based around the theme of traditional Japanese ‘temari’, a type of embroidered handball that can be used for a variety of games.

The Apothecary Diaries has been on a collab streak as of late, with a range of new team ups announced ranging from new attractions at Universal Studios Japan and anime themed beauty products.

The series has also recently teamed up with cosmetics manufacturers to release themed products

This latest collaboration features exclusive illustrations that include newly drawn designs of Maomao and Jinshi, centered around the ‘temari’ theme.

Fans can look forward to collecting new merchandise showing Maomao, the astute apothecary who solves mysteries in the inner palace, and Jinshi, the high-ranking official, depicted in playful poses with temari balls.

The resulting goods have a somewhat retro and utterly adorable aesthetic, perfectly capturing Maomao’s cuteness and Jinshi’s cool demeanor.
