Disney to open new store in Hiroshima

Disney have announced the opening of a brand new Disney Store in Hiroshima.
This new store will be located within a newly constructed shopping mall connected to Hiroshima Station, known as Minamoa.
The Disney Store Minamoa Hiroshima will introduce a novel store design concept, the first of its kind in Japan, centered around the theme of “the magical dream world of Disney”.
This concept draws inspiration from Mickey Mouse’s iconic role as “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” from the classic film Fantasia.
Upon entering the store, guests will be greeted by a Mickey Mouse statue which serves as a focal point for visitors.

The store’s interior design will be themed like a magical castle set against a backdrop of a sunset-colored sky.
The retail space will offer an extensive selection of approximately 2,000 Disney and Pixar merchandise items.
The product range will include the Disney Store’s original character line “UniBEARsity”, the plush toy series “Urupocha-chan”, lifestyle goods, confectionery, apparel, and collaborative products featuring popular brands.
To create an immersive shopping experience, large digital screens will be installed throughout the store to display animated visuals of Disney characters.
The stores grand opening will take place on Monday, March 24th, 2025, and the store will be open between 10:00AM and 8:00PM every day.

This is also the same day that the new Minamoa building will open to the public for the first time.
Given the anticipated high volume of visitors expected on the grand opening day, a queuing system will be implemented to manage store entry.
Detailed information regarding the queuing process and other operational details will be released at a later date by Disney.
To celebrate the grand opening, the Disney Store Minamoa Hiroshima will offer a selection of exclusive, limited-edition merchandise.
These items are designed to serve as unique souvenirs and collectibles, and are inspired by the Hiroshima location.
Notable items include plush toys and keychains featuring Mickey and Minnie Mouse in baseball uniforms similar to the local Hiroshima Toyo Carp baseball team.

Additionally, “Urupocha-chan” plush toys will be available, depicting the characters holding “momiji manju” a traditional Hiroshima area confectionery.
Other exclusive items include pastel-colored eco-bags, shopping bags, and cookie tins, all featuring Mickey Mouse as “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” and the store’s name.
These limited edition items are expected to be highly sought after by Disney collectors and Hiroshima residents alike. Stock is limited, and items will only be available while supplies last.
To further celebrate the grand opening, customers who make purchases totaling 5,000 yen or more (approx. $33.64 USD / £26.16 GBP) will receive an exclusive tote bag featuring a design unique to the Minamoa Hiroshima store.

Additionally, customers can request a Minamoa Hiroshima store-exclusive shop card.

Further information regarding the gift campaign and shop card availability can be obtained from Disney Store Cast Members on the day.
