Houshou Marine takes over Yokohama Marine Tower this December
To celebrate Houshou Marine’s first live show, “Ahoy! You’re All Pirates”, which is set to take place at K Arena Yokohama on the 7th and 8th of December, a new collaboration with a popular Yokohama landmark has been announced.
Yokohama Marine Tower, an observation tower that offers views of the city’s Minato Mirai and port areas, is set to host the collaboration project which will see Houshou Marine take over the observation deck.
The collaboration will take place in two parts – first running from 2nd December to 15th December 2024.
The first half of the collaboration event will see the observation deck taken over by VTuber, and Hololive member, Houshou Marine each evening – with her music video for the song “Ghost Ship” set to be projected onto the windows of the observation deck.
A special video message from Houshou Marine will also be played to visitors to the observation deck during the collaboration.
The outside of the Yokohama Marine Tower will also be lit up in red to coincide with Houshou Marine’s live shows in Yokohama from the 6th of December until the 8th of December
A special collaboration ticket showing an original illustration created for the event will be sold, which also comes with a ticket holder and allows access to a “treasure hunt” experience.
The treasure hunt experience will see visitors needing to solve a series of mysteries around the tower to be rewarded with a set of 4 unique stickers.
December 17th and 18th will see the entire observation deck on the 30th floor of the tower taken over by Houshou Marine for what is being billed as “Marine Day”.
This is being described as a special event for fans only – with different content and screenings planned in comparison to the regular collaboration.
An advance ticket for the “Marine Day” event on the 17th and 18th December will be required and will cost 2,700 yen.
Both the collaboration ticket and “Marine Day” event ticket go on sale from 17:00 JST on the 31st of October via the official website.
Regular collaboration tickets will be priced at 2,300 yen for weekday tickets and 2,460 for weeknight tickets, with weekend/holiday day tickets costing 2,460 yen and weekend/holiday night tickets priced at 2,620 yen.
Night tickets are recommended to experience the full effect of the projections and to get the best views of Yokohama.
The second half of the collaboration from the 16th to 29th of December will see different content screened, with details to be announced on the collaboration website nearer the date of the event.
Houshou Marine x Yokohama Marine Tower merchandise will also be on sale via a pop-up shop on the 1st floor of the tower.
The goods planned include badges, clear files, acrylic stands and even an exclusive one day pass for Yokohama’s Minato-mirai line with a special design.
With collaborative merchandise often selling out, you can reserve items on a pre-order system to collect on the day of your visit through a special website that will open nearer the event dates.
Demand for tickets around the dates of Houshou Marine’s live show on the 7th and 8th of December are likely to be high, so we would recommend booking your ticket in advance if you plan to attend around these dates.
