Hell’s Paradise Season 2 confirmed – watch the first trailer now
The hugely popular series “Hell’s Paradise” (Jigokuraku) has announced that the second season of its anime will begin airing in January 2026.
Based on the manga by Yuji Kaku which has sold over 6.5 million copies in total, the announcement was made as part of the “Shonen Jump+ 10th Anniversary Stage” at Jump Festa 2025.
The announcement was made as Yumiri Hanamori and Makoto Koichi, the voices of Yamada Asaemon Sagiri and Nurugai respectively, took to the stage alongside editorial staff from the series to talk about their experiences so far and their hopes for the second season.
A teaser promo video has been released, which shows Gabimaru and Sagiri continuing their journey into the inner depths of the mysterious island.
The trailer shows glimpses that the amazing action scenes, delivered by animation studio MAPPA that the series became known for, will return in Season 2.
It also teased new executioners who are set to arrive on the island – Yamada Asaemon Shugen, Yamada Asaemon Jikka, Yamada Asaemon Isuzu and Yamada Asaemon Kiyomaru.
The second season also promises to show more of Gabimaru’s past, including his emotional connection to his wife.
Series director Kaori Makita has also commented on Hell’s Paradise Season 2, saying:
“I am happy to be involved in the story of Gabimaru and his friends again. In the first season, the characters struggled but managed to survive.
Now, as a team, we must again try to work out how to portray scenes from the original manga in a manner befitting of the expectations of fans.
For the second season, we have gathered a lot of staff members who are full of love for Jigokuraku, and we are proceeding with the production in a very good atmosphere.
We hope you will enjoy Season 2 as much as we enjoy working on the series.”
Hell’s Paradise/Jigokuraku Season 2 will begin airing in January 2026, with streaming platforms to be announced in due course.
With the first official game based on the series also being announced at Jump Festa, fans of Hell’s Paradise certainly have a lot to look forward to!
