Giant toilet appears in Tokyo to celebrate return of Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun anime
Toilet-bound Hanako-kun returns to screens this year, with the second season of the popular anime series set to begin airing from the 12th of January.
To celebrate the impending return of the anime, Tokyo’s Ikebukuro Station will be taken over by a number of different collaboration events and areas from the 6th to the 12th of January.
The main event space will be located in the Tobu Tojo Line Ikebukuro Station South Exit Underground Event Space.
Fans will be transported into the world of the anime, with the main event space having been designed to look like the ladies restroom on the third floor of Kamome Gakuen, complete with a giant toilet featuring the series logo and a life-size cut-out of Hanako-kun himself.
Fans will be invited to take part and become Hanako-kun’s assistant, a job which will see them tasked with cleaning the restroom.
For those who choose to participate, once you complete your cleaning tasks you’ll be gifted a Hanako-kun “Assistant Certification Sticker” featuring an original illustration.
There will also be a “Find Fairy!” corner where you can search for Minamoto Fairy, who has run away, among a huge amount of “Mokke”.
The event area will also feature a merchandise sales corner, making it a great place for fans to stop by.
Special Hanako-kun movies will also be screened in the following locations around Ikebukuro Station during the event:
- Tobu Signage Pillar (Ikebukuro) B area, in front of the underground central ticket gate at Tobu Tojo Line Ikebukuro Station.
- Tobu Signage Pillar (Ikebukuro) C area, underground at the south exit.
- Smile Station Vision at Seibu Ikebukuro Station, in front of the underground ticket gate at Seibu Ikebukuro Line.
In addition, from the 3rd to the 9th of January, the Animate Ikebukuro main store will feature exhibits, including life-size character standee panels, in the first floor entrance plaza.
With the main event only taking place over the course of 6 days prior to the airing of the first episode of Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun Season 2 on the 12th of January, you’ll need to head over to Ikebukuro Station as soon as possible to avoid missing out.
