Get in the suit, Shinji! Custom Evangelion suits now on sale

Neon Genesis Evangelion’s 30th anniversary takes place in 2025 and fans can now celebrate in a custom tailored suit!
Following on from previous 30th anniversary collaborations that have included McDonald’s burgers and action figures, as well as car seats, this new collab sees Evangelion venture into the world of business fashion.
Japanese clothing retailer Konaka have created a line of collaborative items that blend the distinct aesthetic of Evangelion with everyday business wear.

This collaboration has been held under the direction of the official Evangelion fashion project RADIO EVA, which champions the concept of “Evangelion blending into everyday life”, aiming to produce items that can be worn on a daily basis.

This collection has been designed to allow fans to subtly express their appreciation for the series without sacrificing professional style.
Fifteen different necktie designs featuring original patterns inspired by the series will be available to purchase.

The ties’ inner lining also features full-pattern designs showcasing iconic scenes from the anime, adding a hidden touch of fandom.

Complementing the ties are four different tie bars, which will also be available from Konaka/Futata stores.
Two silver tie bars have been created showing the colors of Evangelion Units 01 and 02, while another design featuring the Lance of Longinus is available in either a classic silver or a sleek black nickel finish.

The ties and tie-bar will be available from Konaka and Futata stores across Japan as well as from their online store.
Konaka stores are largely located in the Tohoku and Kanto areas of Japan while Futata stores can be found in Kyushu.

The ties are priced at 6,490 yen (approx. $42.61 USD / £33.85 GBP), while the tie bars are 5,390 yen (approx. $35.38 USD / £28.11 GBP).
Konaka also own DIFFERENCE, a business fashion retailer known for its custom-made suits.

DIFFERENCE will be taking the collaboration a step further by offering bespoke suits and shirts with Evangelion-themed details.
Customers can choose from approximately 350 different suit fabrics and approximately 230 shirt fabrics to create their perfect Evangelion-inspired ensemble.

Both men’s and women’s styles are available, and all garments are domestically sewn in Japan, ensuring their quality and craftsmanship.

The Evangelion influence is woven into the fabric of these custom pieces.
Suit linings feature patterns made from iconic scenes from the anime, adding a visually striking element.

The breast pocket also has an inbuilt hidden handkerchief that continues the scene pattern.

Custom-made shirts feature an Evangelion scene pattern on the collar’s back tape and “EVANGELION” embroidery on the left cuff of long-sleeved shirts.

These details allow fans of the series to discreetly add a touch of the anime to their formal attire.

DIFFERENCE’s custom-made suits start at 52,800 yen (approx. $346.67 USD / £275.42 GBP) for a suit and 72,930 yen (approx. $478.84 USD / £380.42 GBP) for a suit with a waistcoat.

Custom-made shirts start at 13,200 yen (approx. $86.66 USD / £68.85 GBP).
The custom suits and shirts from DIFFERENCE cannot be ordered online and can only be ordered in store due to the fact they are made to order.
Sales started on 14th February 2025 and no end date has yet been advised by Konaka.
Given that these products have been launched in support of the 30th anniversary and the limited-time nature of most anime collaborations, it is unlikely that any items will be re-stocked if they sell out.
Evangelion fans are therefore advised to place their orders quickly if they want to secure any of these stylish new products.
