Attack on Titan teams up with Tokyo based kimono rental chain
Kimono rental chain Vasara have announced a collaboration with Attack on Titan, in a new promotion titled “Attack on KIMONO”.
Though their head office is based in Tokyo, Vasara operate stores throughout many of Japan’s most popular tourist destinations.
This will be Attack on Titan’s first ever collaboration with a kimono rental company and Vasara have prepared a number of different ways for fans to get involved.
Official artwork featuring Eren, Levi and Erwin all wearing kimono has been prepared specially for the team up.
The first way that fans can get involved is by renting a kimono from one of 21 Vasara stores across Japan.
3 different “Attack on KIMONO” rental plans will be available, each based on either Eren, Levi or Erwin.
Priced at 6,578 yen (inc. tax, approx $41.73 USD/£33.38 GBP) for women and 10,230 yen (inc. tax, approx $64.89 USD/£51.92 GBP) for men, the rental plans will include a 4 item set of official collaboration goods, as well as standard kimono rental.
You can also upgrade from standard kimono rental to any higher value plan on offer in store by paying the additional price difference.
Goods included in the plans will include a fan, acrylic keychain, acrylic card and a bromide style photo card.
A wider range of official goods will also be on sale inside participating stores, as well as online. In store sales of the official goods will be limited to persons purchasing kimono rental (either via the Attack on KIMONO character plans or regular rental).
Eren, Levi and Erwin are joined by Mikasa, Armin and Hange for the expanded official goods collection, which features acrylic stands, badges, pouches, clear folders and towels:
15 stores will also feature life size character panels (1 character per store), allowing customers to take commemorative photos to remember their kimono rental experience:
The “Attack on KIMONO” rental plans will be available from the 15th of January to the 28th of February 2025 at participating Vasara stores.
