About Kodaiji Temple
Kodaiji Temple is located in the Higashiyama ward of Kyoto.
The temple was founded in 1606 by Nene Kitamandokoro to pray for her late husband, Toyotomi Hideyoshi (a Samurai and Feudal Lord).
The temple grounds feature beautiful gardens, a traditional teahouse and the Palm Museum where you can learn more about the temple's founder Lady Nene.

Kodaiji Temple is open daily from 09:00-17:30 (reception closes at 17:00)
The visiting hours will be extended during illumination events.
Lights will be switched on from 17:00 – 21:30 (reception closes at 22:00).

Nearest Station: Kōdai-ji Temple can be reached by the closest station Gion-Shijō Station using the Keihan Main Line (KH39)
Alternatively Kodaiji is located close to Higashiyama Station, which can be accessed using the Tōzai Line (T10)
