What to expect at Tokyo Skytree Dream Christmas 2024

Tokyo Skytree and Tokyo Skytree Town (Tokyo Solamachi) are transformed into a magical festive wonderland for the Christmas season, complete with illuminations, music events and a European style Christmas market.

Tokyo Skytree Town

The main event of Tokyo Skytree Dream Christmas is the European style Christmas market, which will feature the largest-ever lineup of Santa and reindeer monuments imported from Germany, authentic luxurious European style huts and warm winter lighting which is guaranteed to get you feeling festive!

New for 2024 there will be a giant gingerbread house and the largest “giant stollen”, expected to be over 2 meters long, in Japan will be on display.

An elaborately decorated 8ft Christmas tree and approximately 500,000 lights will decorate Tokyo Skytree Town for Tokyo Skytree Dream Christmas.

You won’t want to miss the glittering illuminations and festive photo spots!

To keep you feeling festive there will be live music performances taking place throughout the event.

The sister violin duo “Duo de Fleur” will be performing 30 minute sets at 13:00, 14:00 and 15:00 on the following days:

9th & 10th November 2024

23rd & 24th November 2024

7th & 8th December 2024

The set will include classical music, popular songs and Christmas music that will add to the festive atmosphere.

There will also be jazz music performed by a four-piece string jazz band. The 30 minute sets will include Christmas favourites, Ghibli music and well known jazz numbers.

Jazz band performances will take place on the following days:

30th Nov & 1st Dec 2024

14th & 15th December 2024

21st – 24th December 2024

Tokyo Skytree

Tokyo Skytree will be illuminated with two different variations of lighting during the Dream Christmas event.

One set of colours are designed to make the Skytree look like a Christmas tree with green and warm white lighting, the other set is designed to look like a candle with bright white and red lighting.

The style of the illuminations will change based on the day.

Christmas decorations and photo spots will be set up inside the Tokyo Skytree’s observation deck and the 4th floor entrance.

Other events happening at Tokyo Skytree include live music performances, a photo spot with the chance to take a photo with Santa and the chance to interact with Tokyo Skytree’s mascot Sorakara-chan.

When will Tokyo Skytree Dream Christmas 2024 take place?

Tokyo Skytree Dream Christmas will take place from the 7th November 2024 until the 25th December 2024.

The Christmas Market will take place from 11:00 – 22:00 daily.

Illuminations will run from 16:00 – 23:00 daily.

Tokyo Skytree Dream Christmas is free to attend.

*Events in Tokyo Skytree will require you to purchase a ticket for entry.

How do I get to Tokyo Skytree Dream Christmas 2024?

Nearest Station: Tokyo Skytree Dream Christmas is best accessed from Tokyo Skytree Station using the Tobu Skytree Line.

You can also access the event from Oshiage Station using the Hanzomon Line, the Asakusa Line, the Keisei Oshiage Line or the Tobu Skytree Line.

Alternatively, Tokyo Skytree can be accessed from Honjo-azumabashi Station using the Asakusa Line.
