What to expect at Tokyo Auto Salon
First held in 1983 by the editor-in-chief of tuning car magazine “OPTION” as the “Tokyo Exciting Car Show“, the event aims to spread custom car culture to the world.
In 1987 the events name was changed to “Tokyo Auto Salon” and the event has expanded year on year.
This is Tokyo’s largest car event with over 200 different exhibitors taking part and over 300,000 car fans are expected to attend over 3 days.
The event sees a wide range of products on display including automobile-related games, fashion products and custom car parts.
As the event is held early in the New Year this gives the perfect chance for companies and organisations to announce and provide demonstrations of new products, vehicles and technologies available.
When will Tokyo Auto Salon take place?
Tokyo Auto Salon will take place from the 10th to the 12th January 2025 at Makuhari Messe.
Opening times for the event are as follows:
- Friday 10th January 2025 – 14:00 to 19:00
- Saturday 11th January 2025 – 09:00 to 19:00
- Sunday 12th January 2025 – 09:00 to 18:00
*The first half of Friday 10th January is a business/press day. The special public viewing will begin at 14:00.

Tickets for Tokyo Auto Salon are priced at 4,000 yen for the 10th January 2025 and 3,000 yen per day for the 11th and 12th January 2025.
