What to expect at Suginami Festa

This community focused event is suitable for all the family and is organised with the aim of connecting people in Suginami.

The event sees a variety of arts, crafts and performances, including a music and dance show, gospel choir performance, talks focused on local produce and domestic community exchange programmes, as well as a fashion show highlighting different cultures living in the area.

As well as performances, the festival always has plenty of stalls including vendors selling fresh local vegetables, delicious foods from Suginami and goods from Uzbekistan and Pakistan, as the area is home to many migrants from these countries.

The festival has a separate kids corner set up to keep children entertained with craft workshops including turning old garments into eco bags and a chance for them to learn the sports Boccia and Mölkky.

Suginami Festa typically coincides with other events in the area, such as the Bread and Sweets Festival and Sugi Ani Expo.
