What to expect at Sugi Ani Expo 2024
Suginami is known as the Anime City of Japan, with 149 of Japan’s 811 animation production companies concentrated here.
To celebrate and highlight the cities rich anime culture and history, Suginami Animation Museum are holding Sugi Ani Expo in conjunction with Suginami Festa 2024.
There will be 10 studios local to the area exhibiting at the event:
- A-1 Pictures
- Gonzo
- Satellite
- Studio KAI
- Bandai Namco Filmworks
- Takeemon
- Bones
- MAHO FILM
- Liden Films
- 100studio
The highlight of the event is an anime production workshop, where you can try your hand at becoming a voice actor by recording your voice to match the movements of a picture you have drawn!
The event will also have an exclusive photo session & goods fair, where you can purchase adorable goods and even meet Suginami’s mascot Namisuke – the puppy sized fairy dragon!
Photo session times will take place daily at 11:00, 12:00, 14:00 and 15:00.
Other events happening at Sugi Ani Expo 2024 include a Namisuke stamp rally, which will lead visitors around Suginami Hall and the neighbouring Momoi Harappa Park – collect all of the stamps to receive a prize!
*Registration for this event will take place at Momoi Harappa Park.
As well as the main festival, Suginami Festa, there will also be Suginami Bread Festival & Sweets Fairwill also be held nearby at the same time.
When will Sugi Ani Expo 2024 take place?
Sugi Ani Expo will be happening on the 9th and 10th November 2024 from 10:00 until 16:00.

How do I get to Sugi Ani Expo 2024?
Nearest Station: Sugi Ani Expo is accessible from Nishi-ogikubo Station using the Chūō Line (Rapid) or the Chūō-Sōbu Line.
The event can also be accessed from Kami-Igusa Station using the Seibu Shinjuku Line.
Alternatively, Sugi Ani Expo can be reached from Iogi Station using the Seibu Shinjuku Line.
