SpongeBob Squarepants 25th Anniversary pop up shop and exhibition to open in Kobe this March

An exhibition and pop up shop to celebrate the 25th anniversary of SpongeBob Squarepants will open at Daimaru Suma Store from the 12th to the 24th March 2025.

SpongeBob SquarePants, created by Stephen Hillenburg, is an animated series following the optimistic and naive sponge, SpongeBob, and his underwater adventures in Bikini Bottom.

Alongside his best friend Patrick, and grumpy neighbor Squidward, he navigates life at the Krusty Krab.

Known for its surreal humour and memorable characters, the show premiered on Nickelodeon in 1999 and quickly became a cultural icon with its unique brand of silliness and charm.

The event will feature an exhibition, plenty of photo spots for visitors to enjoy and a pop up shop which will have original SpongeBob character goods on offer, including original items for the event.

Merchandise

A range of merchandise will be available at the pop up shop, including keychains, plushies and accessories.

A range of merchandise will be on sale specially designed by Japanese artist Sakana-kun.
