Senshu Park Sakura Festival
Last Updated on March 27, 2025

Event Overview
During the springtime of each year, Senshu Park, located in Akita, is transformed into a spectacle of vibrant colors as more than 700 cherry trees commence their annual blooming.
This park, which was constructed on the historical grounds of the Kubota Castle Ruins, received recognition as one of Japan’s Top 100 Cherry Blossom viewing destinations back in the year 1990.
As is typical with all floral festivals, the specific dates of the event are susceptible to alterations depending upon the prevailing blooming conditions.
