Lambassador Festival
Last Updated on March 27, 2025

Event Overview
The event, previously known as the “Aussie Meat Festival” following the addition of beef last year, will be rebranded as the “Lambassador Festival” this year.
The name change commemorates the 10th anniversary of the Lamb Ambassador Project and the duration of the event has been extended from one to two days.
A growing global network of Lamb Ambassadors will collaborate to promote the lamb industry through various activities and content.
The festival will feature the return of the popular lamb chop booth and to mitigate the long queues experienced in previous years, additional grills have been introduced.

Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA), an organization funded by Australian lamb producers, has appointed food specialists as Aussie Lamb PR Ambassadors to increase lamb demand within the Japanese market. This initiative, which began in 2015, the Year of the Sheep, has since expanded into a global project, reaching over 10 countries by 2022.
While Genghis Khan is a well-known dish in Japan, lamb is typically regarded in other countries as a “feast meat” consumed during celebrations, while in contrast, lamb consumption in Japan remains relatively low, often considered a “minor meat.”

The Lamb Ambassador Project aims to enhance public awareness and familiarity with lamb operating under the motto “Be a Lambassador!”, the group actively promotes lamb culture, engaging a broad spectrum of “lamb lovers” in activities spanning business-to-business and business-to-consumer interactions.
