Hinode Cherry Blossom Festival
Last Updated on March 17, 2025

Event Overview
For more than three decades, the annual Hinode Cherry Blossom Festival has served as a focal point for spring celebrations in the western regions of Tokyo.
The festival’s primary venue, the Shioda Farmland Embankment, is distinguished by its extensive planting of cherry trees.
The cultural practice of observing cherry blossoms, known as sakura matsuri, has a long and established history in Japan.
The Hinode Festival attracts both local residents and visitors from surrounding areas.
The duration of the festival is dependent on the blossoming period, which is influenced by meteorological conditions.
The festival incorporates a range of artistic and musical presentations. Performances of wadaiko, or Japanese drum ensembles, offer a dynamic auditory experience, while demonstrations of shuji, the art of Japanese penmanship, as well as a performance by the U.S. Air Force Pacific Brass band.
Additionally, the festival features a marketplace where vendors offer a variety of culinary options and handcrafted goods.
In response to recent events, some vendors are contributing to relief efforts for the Noto Peninsula earthquake.
Attendees are advised to utilize Japanese currency for transactions, as electronic payment options may be limited.
