What to expect at Cheese Festa

Celebrate Cheese Day by attending the ultimate cheese event, Cheese Festa!

Cheese Day in Japan has been celebrated on the 11th November since 1992 when it was introduced in order to help everyone become more familiar with cheese.

The event will exhibit cheeses from over a dozen countries around the world and there will be cheese tasting and cheese displays to show how tasty and visually appealing cheese can be.

The event hosts multiple talks and workshops including how to prepare easy cheese snacks, cheese recipes using a number of different cheeses, talks from cheese producers and a Parmigiano Reggiano cutting demonstration.

Two of the biggest events that happen during Cheese Festa are the cheese tasting competition and the Cheese-1 Grand Prix – where members of the public submit cheese based recipes for judging, with a winner being chosen at the event.

If all of that isn’t quite enough cheese for you, there will also be the opportunity to purchase delicious cheeses at bargain prices, with the proceeds from sales being donated to the Japan Committee for UNICEF to support children around the world.

When will Cheese Festa take place?

Dates for Cheese Festa 2025 are yet to be announced, however the event is always held on Cheese day on the 11th of November as well as one other date.
