Event Overview
Just a short walk from the iconic Tokyo Skytree lies Sumida Park, the vibrant setting for the Bokutei Sakura Matsuri (Cherry Blossom Festival).
The festival’s main attraction is a kilometer-long avenue of cherry trees (spanning Bokutei-dori Ave), beautifully illuminated at night, creating a magical atmosphere alongside numerous festival stalls (the illuminations take place from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m daily during the festival).
Given the extensive stretch of blossoms, comfortable footwear is recommended for those wishing to fully experience this nocturnal hanami.
For a truly special experience, visitors might catch a glimpse of geisha during the Mukojima Geisha Chaya tea event, held on select dates (tbc).
