ANIME TOKYO NIGHT to illuminate Tokyo’s Ikebukuro district

Tokyo’s Ikebukuro area will be lit up during evenings this March thanks to the “Ikebukuro Area Projection Mapping ANIME TOKYO NIGHT” event, which focuses on popular anime series.

Part of a Tokyo area initiative to stimulate night-time tourism, the event aims to make the Ikebukuro district a more vibrant evening destination.

The event will focus on showcasing anime content, leveraging Ikebukuro’s reputation as a hub for anime enthusiasts, particularly among international tourists.

The Toshima Community Center building will be illuminated with anime scenes for 2 hours each night, with Nakaikebukuro Park serving as the primary viewing point.

The projection mapping displays will utilize advanced video technology and 3D production techniques to bring iconic scenes from popular anime series to life.

The aim is to create an immersive and engaging experience for anime fans of all ages.

Four animes have been confirmed as featuring in the display: Dandadan, Oshi no Ko, Frieren and WIND BREAKER.
