Travelers have two main convenient ways to reach Kinugawa Onsen from Tokyo:

  • Train: This is the most popular route. Take a Tobu Railway Limited Express train departing from Tobu Asakusa Station in Tokyo (easily accessible by subway). Depending on the specific train you choose, the journey to Kinugawa Onsen Station takes roughly 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours.
  • Shinkansen and Local Train: For a potentially faster option with a transfer, take the JR Tohoku Shinkansen bullet train from Tokyo Station to Utsunomiya Station (around 50 minutes). From Utsunomiya Station, connect to a local JR Sobu Line train bound for Shin-Kanuma Station (approximately 20 minutes). Finally, transfer to a local Tobu Kinugawa Line train to Kinugawa Onsen Station (roughly 15 minutes).
