Here’s how you can reach Tomamu’s mountain paradise:

  • Train: JR Hokkaido trains offer the most direct route. Take a limited express train from Sapporo to Tomamu Station (about 90 minutes). The resort provides a free shuttle bus from the station.
  • Airplane + Train/Bus: New Chitose Airport, near Sapporo, serves Hokkaido. Take a train to Tomamu Station or a direct bus from the airport to the Tomamu resort area.
  • Bus: Highway buses offer routes from cities like Sapporo and Hakodate, providing a comfortable option directly to the Tomamu area.
  • Car: Hokkaido’s roads are excellent, making driving a scenic alternative. If traveling from Honshu (Japan’s main island), you’ll need to take an undersea tunnel followed by Hokkaido’s road network.
