Kyu-Furukawa Gardens is a unique Taiso-period style garden which combines both Western and Japanese style elements.

The Western style rose garden blooms with 100 varieties of roses and is best viewed during their Autumn Rose Festival.

The Japanese garden has a curved pond as the focal point and features beautifully landscaped greenery as well as a traditional tea house and waterfall.

The gardens also house the Kyu-Furukawa Residence, the former home of Meiji era politician Mutsu Munemitsu, which is now managed by the Otani Museum of Art.

How much does Kyu-Furukawa Gardens cost?

Tickets to the gardens cost 150 yen for Adults.

Tickets for adults aged 65 years and older cost 70 yen.

Admission is free for elementary school students and younger.

The gardens opening hours are 09:00 – 17:00 (with last entry at 16:30).

Nearest Station: Kyu-Furukawa Gardens is located 411m from Kami-Nakazato Station which can be accessed using the Keihin-Tōhoku Line (JK35).
